"THE OSBOURNES" Surpasses All Expectations In Australia
July 2, 2002The Osbournes' debut on Australian network television Sunday night surpassed all expectations for Network Ten, according to Undercover.
Ten premiered the MTV hit reality show at 9:00 PM immediately after Big Brother and captured a 39.3% audience share, easily winning its time slot and drawing 1.8 million viewers.
In the target demographic of 16-39 year olds, The Osbournes had more than half the viewing audience scoring a 56.4% share.
Ten's general manager of programming, David Mott, said the show surpassed all expectations. He says "there are 9 equally 'out there' episodes to come, with a second series due in 2003".
The Osbournes will be seen in Australia at 9:30 PM Mondays from next week, going head to head with Sex In The City.
